High-quality welded tables should satisfy a number of conditions, as follows:
1. Excellent main body material:
- For general welding table, steel is a common choice, should be selected high-quality carbon steel or alloy steel, with high strength and toughness, able to withstand various stresses and impacts in the welding process, is not easy to deformation, fracture, generally we use Q355 steel, if necessary, but also can be nitriding.
- Countertop material is suitable: countertop material needs to have good high temperature resistance, wear resistance. Commonly available cast iron table top, its thermal conductivity is good, can quickly dissipate heat, reduce the welding process heat on the table, and high surface hardness, withstand welding sparks and welding friction; there are also some special alloy materials or heat-treated steel plate as a table top, with similar performance advantages.
2. Strong stability:
- The overall structure is reasonably designed with a solid frame. The frame of the welding table should be made of steel welded with sufficient strength and thickness, with excellent welding technology, even and firm welds, without defects such as false welds, leakage welds, etc., to ensure that the frame is able to withstand the weight of the table top and the weldments placed on it, and will not shake or tilt in the process of use.
- The bottom support structure is firm, if there are legs, the number and distribution of legs should ensure the stability of the table, and the contact area between the legs and the ground should be large enough to increase the friction and prevent the table from moving during work. For large or heavy welding tables, you can also consider adding auxiliary support or reinforcement structure to improve its stability.
- High dimensional accuracy: the flatness and levelness of the table top should be high to ensure that the welding parts can be placed smoothly on it for welding operations. The flatness error should be controlled in a small range, generally not more than 0.5mm/m², to ensure the precision and quality of welding. At the same time, the size of the desktop should meet the design requirements, the length, width, height and other dimensions of the error should be controlled within a reasonable range to facilitate the use of other equipment or tools with.
- Functional design is reasonable: the tabletop should be designed with holes according to the actual demand, in order to install fixtures, positioning devices and other accessories, and to facilitate the fixation and positioning of the welded parts. The distribution of holes should be even and reasonable, able to meet the positioning needs of welding parts of different shapes and sizes.
3. Wear-resistant treatment:
The surface of the tabletop should be treated with wear-resistant treatment to improve its service life. The wear resistance of the tabletop can be increased by spraying wear-resistant coating on the surface, pasting wear-resistant rubber skin, etc. to reduce the wear and tear on the tabletop by welding sparks and welding parts.
4. Edge treatment:
The edges of the table should be rounded to avoid sharp edges and corners causing injury to the operator. Chamfering and wrapping can be used to make the edges smooth and rounded to improve the safety of use.
5. Fixture quality:
If the welding table is equipped with fixture and other accessories, the quality of the fixture should be good, the clamping force is large enough to firmly fix the weldment, and it is easy and flexible to operate and easy to adjust and replace the position of the weldment. The material of the fixture should match the material of the welding table and have good corrosion and wear resistance.
